Description of Stappia taiwanensis HME 9619
Cells are Gramstainingnegative, nonflagellated, diffusiblepigmented and rodshaped. Colonies are circular, convex, entire and beige colored after 3 days of incubation on MA at 25°C. In API 20NE, positive for β galactosidase and malic acid, while negative for nitrate reduction, glucose fermentation, esculin hydrolysis, gelatinase, urease, indole production, arginine dihydrolase and assimilation of Dglucose, Dmannose, Dmannitol, potassium gluconate, capric acid, adipic acid, trisodium citrate, N acetylglucosamine and phenylacetic acid. Strain HME9619 (= NIBRBA0000114990) has been isolated from sea water, Wando, Korea.
