Description of Methylobacterium tardum View in CoL LB-3
Cells are Gramstainingnegative, nonflagellated, pigmented and rodshaped. Colonies are punctiform, sticky and pink colored after 3 days of incubation on TSA at 30° C. Strain LB3 negative for nitrate reduction, β galactosidase, glucose fermentation, arginine dihydrolase, esculin hydrolysis, indole production, urease and gelatinase in API 20NE. Does not utilize Dmannose, Dmannitol, N acetylglucosamine, Dmaltose, potassium gluconate, malic acid, trisodium citrate, phenylacetic acid, capric acid and adipic acid but utilizes Dglucose and Larabinose. Strain LB3 (= NIBRBA0000114803 ) has been isolated from fresh water pond, Daejeon, Korea .
