Three genera of neoceratopsians are known from the Maastrichtian of the Western Interior: Triceratops , Diceratops , and Torosaurus ( Forster, 1996; however, see Lehman, 1987). In addition, Triceratops is represented by two species: T. horridus and T. porosus . Unfortunately, the differences between all the taxa are best expressed in the skulls, making it difficult, and in many instances impossible, to identify isolated elements from the Denver Basin to even the generic level. A few notable specimens are described below.
