Bathyphantes unimaculata Banks 1892: 45 , pl. 2, f. 65. (Description Ƥ).
Meioneta unimaculata Chamberlin & Ivie 1944: 91 . (Transferred Ƥ from Bathyphantes View in CoL ). Agyneta unimaculata Buckle et al. 2001: 101 View in CoL . (Transferred from Meioneta ).
Type material: Bathyphantes unimaculata Banks 1892 , 3 HOLOTYPE from New York, Ithaca. (unique number 23406). MCZ, EXAMINED. One male, one female and 2 juveniles in vial.
Diagnosis: Males are diagnosed from all other Agyneta species by their inverse S-shaped lamella characteristica and their dorsal tibial apophysis with row of spurs ( Fig. 309 View FIGURES 309 – 315 ). From A. parva by the presence of dorsal and ventral cymbial tubercles ( Fig. 310 View FIGURES 309 – 315 ), only dorsal cymbial tubercle present in A. parva ( Fig. 291 View FIGURES 290 – 299 ). Females are diagnosed from all species by their extremely narrow, curved epigynal slits ( Fig. 313 View FIGURES 309 – 315 ). To distinguish from A. parva and A. evadens see their diagnosis.
Description: Male: Total length 1.93; carapace length 0.85, width 0.61.
CEPHALOTHORAX: Carapace yellow-brown, shiny, finely reticulate; lightly suffused with gray along radiating lines and pars cephalica. Sternum suffused with gray. Clypeus height 3. Chelicerae apical half yellow, basal half suffused with dark gray; not excavated; seta-tipped tubercles absent; promargin five denticles, retromargin four tiny denticles. Cheliceral stridulatory organ easily visible ~17 striae, widely spaced. ABDOMEN: Uniformly light to dark gray. LEGS: Light yellow, base of femur slightly suffused with dark gray; leg I total length: 2.98; leg III total length: 2.11; Tm I: 0.22, Tm IV: absent. GENITALIA: Palpal retrolateral tibial apophysis long and pointed; dorsal tibial apophysis curved with 4–5 pointed spurs; two retrolateral trichobothria and one dorsal ( Fig. 309 View FIGURES 309 – 315 ). Cymbium triangular; glabrous depression present ( Fig 309 View FIGURES 309 – 315 ); dorsal cymbial tubercle smooth; ventral cymbial tubercle rugose; prolateral notch shallow ( Fig 310 View FIGURES 309 – 315 ). Paracymbium apical pocket medium, anterior pocket long, posterior pocket absent ( Fig. 309 View FIGURES 309 – 315 ). Embolus tip narrow with small prong; one large spikes basally; numerous small spines ventrally; Fickert’s gland absent; ventral lamella reduced or absent; thumb reaching the embolus proper ( Fig. 311 View FIGURES 309 – 315 ). Embolus proper set apically on a vertical ridge, of equal part ( Fig. 311 View FIGURES 309 – 315 ). Anterior terminal apophysis wide with numerous, curved protrusions; posterior terminal apophysis narrow, tip curved fused to a wide lamella characteristica with one large prong ( Fig. 312 View FIGURES 309 – 315 ).
