Type material: Agyneta dynica Saaristo & Koponen 1998 , 3 HOLOTYPE from Canada: Nouveau-Québec, Kuujjuarapik, 6.6.– 17.8.1990, inland dyne, S. Koponen (MUS. Zool Turk AM629) deposited in AMNH. EXAMINED.
Diagnosis: Males are distinguished from all Agyneta species by their long, sinuous and narrow lamella characteristica with blunt tip ( Fig. 137 View FIGURES 137 – 143 ). Females are distinguished from most Agyneta by their deep pit hook depression ( Fig. 141 View FIGURES 137 – 143 ). From closely related species by the slightly oblique sides of the proximal part of scape ( Fig. 141 View FIGURES 137 – 143 ), strongly oblique in A. nigripes ( Fig. 127 View FIGURES 123 – 129 ) and straight A. rurestris , A. jacksoni and A. maritima ( Figs 112 View FIGURES 108 – 115 , 120 View FIGURES 116 – 122 , 134 View FIGURES 130 – 136 ).
Description: Male: Total length 1.71; carapace length 0.75, width 0.61.
CEPHALOTHORAX: Carapace brown, shiny, finely reticulate; suffused with dark gray along margin, radiating lines; trident mark present. Sternum brown strongly suffused with dark gray. Clypeus height 1. Chelicerae orange-brown, apical part lighter, excavated; seta-tipped tubercles absent; promargin three denticles, retromargin two denticles; without projections near base of fang. Cheliceral stridulatory organ ~38 striae, well spaced gradually getting closer. ABDOMEN: Uniformly dark gray. LEGS: Yellow-orange, leg I total length: 2.22; leg III total length: 1.82; Tm I: 0.28, Tm IV: absent. GENITALIA: Palpal retrolateral tibial apophysis absent; dorsal tibial apophysis absent; two retrolateral trichobothria and a dorsal one ( Fig. 137 View FIGURES 137 – 143 ). Cymbium truncated; glabrous depression present ( Fig. 137 View FIGURES 137 – 143 ); dorsal cymbial tubercle absent; ventral cymbial tubercle smooth, elongated and rounded; prolateral notch shallow ( Fig. 138 View FIGURES 137 – 143 ). Paracymbium apical pocket short, anterior pocket curved and short, posterior pocket absent ( Fig. 137 View FIGURES 137 – 143 ). Embolus tip pointed, with large prong; basally with large flange; Fickert’s gland absent; ventral lamella wide, apically serrated; thumb short reaching well below the embolus proper ( Fig. 139 View FIGURES 137 – 143 ). Embolus proper very large, set apically, dorsal part wide, serrated ( Fig. 139 View FIGURES 137 – 143 ). Anterior terminal apophysis wide with long protrusions; posterior terminal apophysis wide, twisted medially, striated; lamella characteristica large, margin with row of spurs, ending in two rounded points ( Fig. 140 View FIGURES 137 – 143 ).
Female: Total length 2.14; carapace length 0.78, width 0.78.
CEPHALOTHORAX: Same coloration as male. Chelicerae yellow; promargin 3 teeth, retromargin four denticles. Cheliceral stridulatory organ visible ~32 striae, well spaced. ABDOMEN: Same as male. LEGS: Same as male; palpal tarsal claw absent; leg I total length: 2.78; leg III total length: 2.07; Tm I: 0.28, Tm IV: absent. GENITALIA: Epigynum with wide proximal part of scape, sides very slightly oblique; epigynal slits oval and short; pit hook depression deep ( Fig. 141 View FIGURES 137 – 143 ); lateral lobes wide and short; stretcher seemingly absent; pit medium ( Fig. 142 View FIGURES 137 – 143 ). Median part of scape long and wide with constriction; genital pores situated at base of lateral lobes pockets ( Fig. 143 View FIGURES 137 – 143 ). Internal genitalia with oval ventral receptacula ( Figs 142, 143 View FIGURES 137 – 143 ).
