Remarks. Heinrich (1934: 128–129) separated 4 different “races” from Sulawesi due to different colour pattern. In my opinion, all his subspecies are colour variants only.
The specimen from Borneo represents the dark nominal form; the material from Sulawesi belongs to the var. centralis and makassariensis, the material from Sula Islands has a red ground colour, with only head and mesoscutum ± black ( var. maculutus ).
Distribution. Known from Borneo, Sulawesi and Sumatra, new record for the Sula Islands.
