Diagnosis: Small, round and dorsoventrally convex body. Head without frontal stria, convex eyes, labrum with a pair of prominent setae. Antennal club annulate. Antennal cavities present at the anteriormost hypomeral angle. Pronotal disc with an antescutellar stria. Tarsal formula 5-5-5.

Etymology: Generic name Pseudacritus (masculine) points out the striking resemblance to the recent genus Acritus .
