TYPE SPECIES. — Pericharax heteroraphis Poléjaeff, 1883 by subsequent designation (Dendy & Row 1913).
DIAGNOSIS. — Leucettidae with a large central atrium surrounded by a thick wall. The wall is divided into a choanoderm and a thin subcortical layer of inhalant cavities supported by a peculiar skeleton partially composed of the centripetal actines of the special cortical triactines.
