Astatumen trinacriae (Arcidiacono 1962) View in CoL

A total of 46 specimens were collected from MR and LF samples. Specimens with buccal-pharyngeal apparatus divided in a rigid buccal tube and a flexible pharyngeal tube, with no stylet supports. Strips present within the pharyngeal bulb. Leaf litter populations (14 specimens) showed cuticle bars on the inner claws of the second and third pairs of legs, mentioned in some but not in all specimens ( Ramazzotti & Maucci 1983). Body size ranged from 407 to 1155 μm, mean 621 μm (SD 145). This species has been cited for Europe, Asia, America and Africa. In the Iberian Peninsula, it has been recorded for Portugal ( Maucci & Durante Pasa 1985). This is the first record for Spain and Madrid ( Table 2 View TABLE 2 ). Astatumen trinacriae appeared in 13 of the sites sampled (Table 3).
