Cavernocepheus (Cavernocepheus) xipetoteci n. sp. is similar to C. (C.) longicristatus Ermilov,
2024 in the shape of the lateral notogastral condyle, the elongate crista reaching or surpassing the level of the lp setae, and in having a foveolate tutoria. However, the new species is distinguished from the other one by the bothridial seta with a fusiform (vs. setiform) head, size of the notogastral setae 36–46 (vs. 22–26) and seta u on leg I spiniform (vs. setiform).
