Cavernocepheus (Cavernocepheus) xipetoteci n. sp. is similar to C. ( C.) longicristatus Ermilov,
2024 in the shape of the lateral notogastral condyle, the elongate crista reaching or surpassing the level of the lp setae, and in having a foveolate tutoria. However, the new species is distinguished from the other one by the bothridial seta with a fusiform (vs. setiform) head, size of the notogastral setae 36–46 (vs. 22–26) and seta u on leg I spiniform (vs. setiform).
