Diagnosis. Omalaspis latreillii is similar to O. brandaoi , both having frons coriaceous, median ridge blunt, only conspicuous between antero-admedian lines, and scutellar foveae almost smooth, with scarce pubescence. But in O. brandaoi , the supratorular impression is very large and conspicuous, dorsal margin of median mesoscutal sulcus is very well defined, curved, and lateral margins of scutellar disc nearly straight, while in O. latreillii , the supratorular impression is not so large and conspicuous, dorsal margin of median mesoscutal furrow not well defined, pointed, and lateral margins of scutellar disc confluent posteriorly, with posterior margin narrow.
Redescription. Length. Female 2.7 to 3.1 mm.; male unknown.
Coloration. Head dark brown. Mesosoma, antennae and legs light brown. Metasoma medium to light brown. Wing membrane hyaline. Veins of wing light yellow.
Head. Frons coriaceous. Frontal carinae absent. Lateral frontal carinae conspicuous, space between them and compound eyes with scarce small transverse carinae. Supratorular impression conspicuous and rather big. Lower face with conspicuous facial impression. Ocelli prominent; vertex, in frontal view, slightly incised. Vertex in dorsal view coriaceous, weakly rugose. Vertex posterior coriaceous. Occiput coriaceous. Genae sharply margined and expanded, coriaceous and with transverse carinae.
Antenna. Filiform. Antennal formula: 4(2.5): 2(2): 5.5(2): 5(2): 4.5(2): 4.5(2): 4(2): 4(2): 3.5(2): 3.5(2): 3.5(2): 3(2): 7(2).
Mesosoma. Lateral surface of pronotum coriaceous, with very short and scarce transverse carinae dorsally, basally with conspicuous transverse carinae, central area coriaceous. Mesoscutum coriaceous. Parascutal sulcus shiny. Median ridge complete, blunt, not well defined posteriorly, antero-admedian lines conspicuous straight, reaching 1/3 mesoscutum length. Median mesoscutal furrow wide, reaching between 1/2 and 1/3 mesoscutum length, with small transverse carinae inside. Notauli wide posteriorly, narrow anteriorly, with small transverse carinae inside. Mesosoma, in lateral view, curved. Mesopleuron slightly sculptured anteriorly, smooth posteriorly. Scutellum 0.75 to 0.78 times scutum length. Interfoveal line reaching 1/2 to 1/3 scutellar disc length, as prominent as lateral margins of scutellum. Scutellar foveae with some longitudinal carinae. Scutellar disc granulate to rugose, with scarce and small transverse carinae. Lateral scutellar margin confluent, posterior margin of scutellum straight and narrow.
Wing. Radial cell 2.0 to 2.2 times longer than wide. R2 straight.
Distribution. Palaearctic: Germany ( Hartig, 1840), Sweden ( Thomson, 1877).
Biology. Unknown.
