Lactobacillus hamsteri (ham’ste.ri. N.L. gen. n. hamster of the hamster from which the isolate was derived).
Lactobacillus hamsteri View in CoL produces DL-lactic acid from glucose, cellobiose, sucrose, mannitol, raffinose and ribose. No acid is produced from melizitose [ 88]. The genome size is 1.84 Mbp and the mol% G+C content of DNA is 35.1.
Isolated from the intestine of a hamster.
