Sphedanus undatus Thorell 1877 View in CoL

Figs 19 View FIGURES 16 – 19. 16 – 17 : 10, 20–23

Sphedanus undatus Thorell 1877: 523 View in CoL (Description of female; female holotype from Sulawesi, Kandari, O. Beccari leg. 1874, MCSN, examined).

Nilus undatus ,— Simon 1898a: 289.

Diagnosis. Epigyne similar to S. quadrimaculatus comb. nov. ( Figs 24–26 View FIGURES 20 – 29 ) and S. banna comb. nov. ( Figs 27–29 View FIGURES 20 – 29 ) but distinguished by the atria in dorsal view covering the copulatory ducts almost completely. It is more similar to S. banna comb. nov. in having short and posteriorly situated head of spermathecae, a long median ridge of epigynal field extending into posterior half and in exhibiting only short ridges in the lateral lobes. Median margins of lateral lobes undulating and diverging posteriorly as in S. quadrimaculata comb. nov.

Redescription. PL 3.1, PW 2.6, AW 1.5, OL 4.6, OW 2.2. AME 0.21, ALE 0.21, PME 0.19, PLE 0.21, Chelicerae with 3 anterior and 3 posterior teeth, furrow without denticles. Leg I measurements: 14.4 (4.0, 1.4, 4.0, 3.3, 1.7).

Epigyne in general similar to S. banna comb. nov. and S. quadrimaculata comb. nov. but distinguished by traits listed in the diagnosis. Posterior part of median lobes similarly large as in S. banna comb. nov., but more prominent (outline) in posterior view ( Fig. 23 View FIGURES 20 – 29 ).

Male. Unknown.

Distribution. Known only from the type locality.
