Trochammina Parker & Jones 1859 View in CoL
Trochammina View in CoL sp. cf. T. subconica ( Parr 1950) View in CoL ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 :13, 14)
Description. See Parr (1950; p. 281, pl. 5, fig. 22).
Remarks. Specimens collected from the CG match the original description for this species with a compact test, conical, inflated chambers that are coarsely arrenaceous, strongly depressed sutures and an arched aperture at the inner margin of the final chamber. Despite this, whilst T. subconica is decribed as triserial, a majority of reported specimens possess four chambers in their final whorl ( Parr 1950). Collected specimens from the CG were damaged and a dominance of four chambers was not found, though this may be due to the small number of specimens collected. For this reason only tentative assignment has been made.
Distribution within study area. Trochammina subconica Parr 1950 only occurred in Heron and One Tree Lagoons and the channel with no more than three specimens per site (One Tree Lagoon 2, site 50).
