Miliolinella View in CoL sp. 1 ( Fig. 11 View FIGURE 11 :16, 17)

Remarks. This species is strikingly similar to Parker’s (2009, fig. 91a–k) Miliolinella sp. 1 collected from Ningaloo Reef. Both taxa have a free, porcelanous test with a rounded and inflated aboral end and a somewhat truncated oral end. The sutures are depressed and curved. The low arched aperture has a broad tooth that forms a flap across the full length of the aperture and a backward facing lip ( Fig. 11 View FIGURE 11 :16, 17). However, the CG specimens generally lack an elongate test, though some of the specimens figured by Parker (2009, fig. 91a–f) appear to have a similar length to width ratio. The CG specimens also have sutures that are not as strongly oblique to the test axis. Parker (2009) synonymised his specimens with those of Loeblich & Tappan (1994) collected from the Timor Sea. However, these illustrated specimens also do not have such strongly oblique sutures and additionally they have a significantly thicker peristomal lip, a larger, deeper aperture and a considerably larger, convex, backward facing flap, similar to that of M. circularis . Parker (2009) also synonymised unillustrated specimens collected by Haig (1997) from the Exmouth Gulf, but the lack of formal illustration makes it difficult to confirm this synonymy.

Distribution within study area. Miliolinella sp. 1 was collected in low abundance (one to three specimens per site) from six sites in One Tree Lagoons, the most abundant being site 51 in Lagoon 2.
