Salileptolyngbya Zhou , gen. nov.
Thallus blue-green. Filaments straight or curved to floating mats, without branching. Sheath thick, multilayer, covered the trichomes. Cells cylindrical and elongated, distinctly constricted at the cross wall.Apical cell rounded. Reproduction by hormogonia. Typical from saline environment.
Type: — Salileptolyngbya diazotrophicum Zhou sp. nov
Etymology: —the genus name “ Salileptolyngbya ” refers to its habitat in saline environment and similar morphology to Leptolyngbya sensu stricto.
