Type material: Holotype (male). [ Democratic Republic of the Congo] “ Congo Belge, Congo River , 16 Sept. 1922 ”, gen. slide No.: NHMUK 010315467, unique number: NHMUK 012832434 ( NHMUK).

Description. Forewing length 16 mm. Forewing light-yellow with longitudinal brown stripe medially between base and postdiscal area. Thin light-brown transverse dashes throughout the wing, partially fused and forming thin transverse bands; discal area without pattern. Hindwing light-yellow without pattern.

Male genitalia. Uncus pyramidal, short, apically rounded; valvae narrow, distal margin semicircular, costal and ventral margins smooth almost straight; juxta wide with short leaf-like posterio-lateral processes; saccus 1.5 times shorter than valva, sharply tapering from base to apex, apically pointed. Phallus typical of the genus.

Female unknown.

Diagnosis. The new species differs from the other species of the genus in the following characters:

- the forewing discal area is without pattern,

- the presence of a brown longitudinal medial stripe between the base and the postdiscal area of the forewing, - the pointed apex of the saccus.

Etymology. The species is named after Mr. Alexey Prozorov – Russian lepidopterist. He was one of the largest specialists in African Lasiocampidae .

Distribution. Democratic Republic of the Congo.
