Diagnosis. The forewing length is 8.0–9.5 mm in males and 9.0–10.0 mm in females. Miltochrista tenuiprocessa sp. n. ( Figs 39–44 View Figures 39–49 ) is very similar to the narrow-patterned form of M. asphida sp. n. ( Fig. 35 View Figures 27–38 ) and the identification requires the examination of the genitalia structures, which are clearly different in these two species (see above, in the diagnosis of M. asphida sp. n.). The male genitalia structure of M. tenuiprocessa sp. n. ( Figs 77 View Figures 74–77 , 78 View Figures 78–81 ) is similar to M. tumida sp. n. ( Figs 75, 76 View Figures 74–77 ) and the detailed comparison is provided above in the diagnosis of the latter species. As the female of M. tumida sp. n. is unknown, the female genitalia of M. tenuiprocessa sp. n. ( Fig. 91 View Figures 90–93 ) were compared with the vaguely similar M. velona ( Fig. 88 View Figures 86–89 ) instead, from which the new species is distinguished by the markedly shorter and posteriorly dilated antrum (it has almost parallel margins in the congener), the shallower medial ventral incision of the ostium bursae margin, the shorter corpus bursae with a narrower and less laterally protruding posterior sclerotised area edged with sparser and shorter spines, and the presence of a broad area of larger spinulose scobination laterally on the left side.
Distribution. Northern Vietnam (Lào Cai Province), South China (Hainan Island), Northern Thailand (Nan Province), northern Myanmar (Kachin State) and Northeast India (Assam).
Etymology. The specific epithet is derived from the Latin words ‘tenuis’ meaning ‘slender’ and ‘processus’ meaning ‘a process’, and refers to the slender distal costal and saccular processes. The name is a noun in the nominative singular in apposition to the generic name.
