Ceratophysella communis |
status |
|
C. communis auctt.
General distribution: Asia, South America, Australia ( Thibaud et al. 2004).
Distribution in China: Fujian province, Fuzhou ( Denis 1929), Henan province, Luoyang, Sanmenxia ( Shen 1993), Shanxi-1 province, between Henglingguan and Wangmaoshen ( Uchida 1948), Taiwan, Taibei ( Denis 1928).
Note. Because of poor description and missing valid redescription, C. communis (Folsom, 1897) can not be placed among presently acknowledged Ceratophysella species. Existing concepts of the species are inconsistent and define it as a member of the communis / denticulata group or boletivora group ( Denis 1924; Yosii 1956, 1960, 1962, 1965; Christiansen & Bellinger 1980). The only certain record of true C. communis (Folsom, 1897) is that from the type locality (Tokyo, Japan), and Chinese records concern C. communis auctt. Some of the Ceratophysella species described from China: C. adexilis , C. baichengensis C. yinae and C. zhangi are close to, or synonymous with C. communis sensu Yosii (1962) . Their taxonomic status needs confirmation.
