Parapiesma rotundatum (Horváth, 1906)

Distribution in Iran. Khuzestan (Linnavuori 2011).

General distribution. Italy, Macedonia, North Africa, Near East, Central Asia, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia.

Comment. On Alhagi sp. ( Fabaceae ), Juncus sp. ( Juncaceae ), Tamarix sp. ( Tamaricaceae ) (Linnavuori 2011). Schaefer (1981) commented on the host specificity of the species of Piesmatidae . Most of the Piesma genus group ( Piesma, Afropiesma , and Parapiesma ) feed on a few genera of Chenopodiaceae , and a few feed on Caryophyllaceae , and one species ( Parapiesma linnavouri Štys, 1969 ) feeds on Acacia (Fabaceae) ( Elias & Cassis 2012). Heiss & Péricart (1983) gave detailed records of the available host plant information for the Palearctic Piesmatidae , which agreed with Schaefer’s considerations.
