TYPE SPECIES. — Oliva dama Mawe, 1828 by subsequent designation ( Dall 1909).
DIAGNOSIS. — Shell small or medium sized, oliviform, elevated spire, polished and smooth surface; suture grooved or channeled; parietal region with a callus which may extend along the spire whorls that usually bears an accessory growth (pillar structure) upon it developing folds or lirations. Operculum when present is chitinous and thin.
