Geniculodesmus View in CoL n. gen.
Type-species: Habrodesmus inexpectatus Attems, 1944 .
Diagnosis
A genus of Paradoxosomatidae of medium size (20–30 mm long) with 20 segments, a normal pore formula, poorly developed paraterga and pleurosternal carinae, but with well-developed metatergal sulci, tarsal brushes on most of male legs, and sternal lobe between male coxae 4.
Gonopod coxite elongate and subcylindrical, nearly as long as telopodite. Prefemoral part considerably shorter than a poorly curved femorite, latter not broadened at base. A process present at base of solenophore. A postfemoral part absent; femorite ending up by a peculiar geniculation devoid of an apical outgrowth, but followed by a long and coiled solenophore, latter sheathing most of a long and flagelliform solenomere.
Etymology
To emphasize the geniculation at the tip of the gonofemorite. Included species: the type species only.
