Type material. Holotype male: THAILAND, Mae Hong Son Province, Cave Lodge, Mountain monsoon forest in the river valley, 19°34.320’N, 98°16.847’E, 30.v–19.vi.2016, V. Spitsyn leg. ( RMBH Sph0848). GoogleMaps

Diagnosis. The novel species is morphologically similar to Cyana javanica (Butler, 1877) and Cyana conclusa (Walker, 1862) , but can be distinguished from those taxa by a broad distal section of the valva (vs narrow and long distal section of the valva in C. javanica ) and by the lack of a cluster of spines in the aedeagus vesica (vs the presence of such cluster in C. conclusa ).

Description. Male morphology: Wingspan 36 mm, forewing length 18 mm. Eye gray. Antenna brown. Head white. Labial palpus short, brown. Thorax white. Patagium, and tegula white, with pink apex. Legs white with pink spots. Forewing upperside white; basal, antemedial and postmedial lines red; outer margin orange; apex of the central cell with two black spots. A line of androconial scales is located along the costal margin. Hindwings pink. Underside of forewings white, hindwings light pink. Abdomen pink.

Male genitalia: Uncus long; tegumen long, u-shaped; saccus broad. Valva long, distal section of valva broad; the ampulla is long, wide and curved; distal saccular process long, curved. Aedeagus straight, without a cluster of spines in vesica.

Distribution. Thailand and Cambodia ( Bayarsaikhan & Bae 2016).
