Key to identification of new Neotropical genera

Including the two new taxa described in the present paper, the Neotropical Glandulariini comprise 33 extant genera. The previously known 31 genera were preliminarily divided into informal morphological groups by Jałoszyński (2019); they may not be monophyletic, but facilitate identifications and further work on Scydmaeninae of Central and South America. Tridensius and Sibylloconnus can be placed in a group using the following key:

1. Lateral sutures of submentum present............................. Group 1 ( Alloraphes , Mexiconnus , Obesoconnus )

- Lateral submental sutures absent. Group 2 ................................................................. 2

2. Anterior metaventral process present and clearly separated by gap or constriction from posterior tip of mesoventral process...................................... Subgroup 2A ( Bicarinulodes , Magellanoconnus , Neuraphanax , Pseudoraphes )

- Anterior mesoventral process absent or indistinguishably fused with mesoventral process. Subgroup 2B ................ 3

3. Prosternum completely demarcated from hypomera......... Subgroup 2B1 ( Afroeudesis subgen. Eudesoides , Archiconnus , Euconnomorphus , Euconnus , Napoconnus , Plaumanniola , Sibylloconnus , Tridensius , Venezolanoconnus )

- Prosternum partly or completely fused with inner portion of hypomeron (in front of or/and behind procoxal cavities)...... 4

- Prosternum fused with inner portion of hypomeron only behind procoxal cavities... Subgroup 2B3 ( Parapseudoconnus and Sciacharis subg. Palaeoconnus , but in the latter the fusion site is very short and barely discernible)
