Description of Acetobacter ghanensis CHM View in CoL 34
Cells are Gram-staining-negative, non-flagellated, and rod shaped. Colonies are circular, convex, smooth, glistening and yellowish-white color after 3 days of incubation on HS at 28°C. Positive for nitrate reduction, glucose fermentation, and esculin hydrolysis in API 20NE, but negative for indole production, arginine dihydrolase, urease, gelatinase, and β -galactosidase. D-glucose is utilized. Does not utilize L-arabinose, D-mannose, D-mannitol, N -acetyl-glucosamine, D-maltose, potassium gluconate, capric acid, adipic acid, malic acid, trisodium citrate, and phenylacetic acid. Strain CHM 34 (= NIBR BAC000502314) has been isolated from fermented vinegar, Cheongdo, Korea.
