Description of Komagataeibacter xylinus SG.K 4

Cells are Gram-staining-negative, non-flagellated, and rod-shaped. Colonies are circular, convex, smooth, glistening, and yellowish-white color after 3 days on HS at 28° C. In API 20NE, positive for esculin hydrolysis, but negative for nitrate reduction, glucose fermentation, urease, indole production, arginine dihydrolase, gelatinase, and β -galactosidase. Does not utilize D-glucose, L-arabinose, D-mannose, D-mannitol, N -acetyl-glucosamine, D-maltose, potassium gluconate capric acid, adipic acid, malic acid, trisodium citrate, and phenylacetic acid. Strain SG.K 4 (= NIBRBAC000502326 ) has been isolated fermented vinegar, Seoul, Korea .
