Burmannia letestui Schlechter (1925: 82 View in CoL , as “ Le-Testui ”)
Citation in the protologue: “ Oubangui-Chari: Champs de latérite entre le Lubari et le Zaca, tributaires du Mbomou.—G. Le Testu no. 4332 (typus), Novembre 1922 ”.
First-step lectotype: Inadvertently designated by Jonker (1938) citing “ French Congo, Oubangui–Chari, between le Lubari and la Zaca (Le Testu 4332, fl. Nov. [P], Type of B. letestui Schltr. ) (as “ Le-Testui ”)”
Second-step lectotype (designated here):— Haut-Oubangui , Région de Yalinga: champ de latérite entre le Zaco et le Lubari, 17 Nov. 1922, G. M. P. C. Le Testu 4332 ( P, barcode P00076029 [image!], available on https://science.mnhn.fr/institution/mnhn/collection/p/ item/p00076029, Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 ). Isolectotypes: P (barcode P00435893 [image!]) & BR (barcode BR0000008643124 [image!]) .
Notes: There are two relevant specimens at P (barcodes P00076029! and P00435893!) which are perfectly fit to the citation of first step lectotypification. There is a determinavit on the sheets as ‘Type of Burmannia letestui Schltr. ’ by Jill Cowley in 1983, who handled the family Burmanniaceae in the Flora of Tropical East Africa. Cowley (1988) has not narrowed Jonker’s choice. Therefore, one of the specimens (barcode P00076029) is here designated as the second-step lectotype of the name. In search, we could trace a reliable duplicate at BR (barcode BR0000008643124!).
