Gnathosoma 15 (15–16), projecting obliquely down, pedipalp coxal setae (ep) 2 (2–3), dorsal pedipalp genual setae (d) 5 (5–6), chelicerae 13 (13–14). Prodorsal shield 48 (47–50), 57 (55–60) wide; with frontal lobe broad but flat anteriorly; prodorsal shield design with complete admedian and submedian lines, inner admedian lines sinuous and connected with each other forming two diamond-shaped cells, outer admedian lines forming a sub-circle; inner submedian lines sinuous and cross the scapular tubercles. Scapular tubercles ahead of rear margin, 17 (17–18) apart, scapular setae (sc) 5 (5–6) projecting ahead and centrad. Coxal area with short lines and granules; anterolateral setae on coxisternum I (1b) 7 (5–7), proximal setae on coxisternum I (1a) 10 (10–12), proximal setae on coxisternum II (2a) 25 (20–25). Prosternal apodeme present. Legs: Leg I 35 (34–37), femur 10 (9–10), basiventral femoral seta (bv) 9 (7–9); genu 5 (5–6), antaxial genual seta (l'') 22 (21–22); tibia 6 (5–6), paraxial tibial seta (l') 5 (5–6), seta located 1/2 from dorsal base; tarsus 5 (5–6), tarsal seta (u') 5 (4–5), tarsal empodium simple, 6-rayed, tarsal solenidion tapered. Leg II 33 (31–33), femur 9 (8–9), basiventral femoral seta (bv) 7 (7–8); genu 4 (4–5), antaxial genual seta (l'') 6 (6–7); tibia 5 (5–6); tarsus 5 (5– 6), tarsal seta (u') 5 (4–5), tarsal empodium simple, 6-rayed, tarsal solenidion tapered. Opisthosoma: dorsal opisthosoma with 53 (50–53) annuli, smooth, with five obvious dorsal ridges, middorsal ridge ending with a middorsal furrow; ventrally with 70 (66–71) microtuberculate annuli. Setae c2 32 (30–32) on ventral annulus 9 (8–9); setae d 45 (40–50) on ventral annulus 24 (22–24); setae e 30 (27–30) on ventral annulus 42 (38–43); setae f 25 (24–30) on 7th ventral annulus from rear. Setae h1 5 (4–5). Female genitalia 12 (11–12), 20 (20– 21) wide, coverflap with 14–16 longitudinal ridges, proximal setae on coxisternum III (3a) 17 (15–23).
MALE: Unknown.
Types. Holotype, female, from Lindera sp. ( Lauraceae ), Wen County, Gansu Province, China, 32°56'43N, 104°40'27E, September 9, 2005, collected by Zi-Wei Song and Xiao-Feng Xue. Paratypes, 11 females, with the same data as holotype.
Relation to host. Mites are vagrant on the undersurface of leaves, causing no apparent damage.
Etymology. The specific designation linderanis is from the generic name of the host plant, Lindera .
Remarks. This species is similar to Calepitrimerus linderaus Huang & Cheng, 2005 , but can be differentiated by coxal area with short lines and granules (coxal area smooth in C. linderaus ), prodorsal shield design without median line (prodorsal shield design with un-continuous median lines in C. linderaus ), tarsal solenidion tapered (tarsal solenidion knobbed in C. linderaus ).
