Laemophloeus biguttatus (Say, 1825)

Laemophloeus biguttatus is widely distributed in New Brunswick, Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island ( Bousquet 1991) ( Fig. 2 View Fig ). Th ey are found under the bark of trees where they feed on ascomycete fungi such as Hypoxylon prob. atropunctatum (Schweinitz ex Fries) Cooke (Th omas 1993). In Nova Scotia it has been collected in coniferous and mixed forests on both red maple ( Acer rubrum L., Aceraceae ) and red oak ( Quercus rubra L., Fagaceae ).
