Miktoniscus patiencei View in CoL is probably the rarest woodlouse species in Belgium and presumably extinct ( DE SMEDT et al., 2018b). It has not been found in the recent surveys. We refer to LOCK & DURWAEL (2000), LOCK (2001) and DE SMEDT et al. (2020a) for information on the habitat in Belgium, however based on only two observations. M. patiencei View in CoL is a coastal species found just above the high-water mark. There it can be found by turning drift wood and other waste. The only two records of the species are from the end of the 20 th century and the beginning of the 21 st century in March and July respectively, see LOCK & DURWAEL (2000) and LOCK (2001).
