Chrysomela tortuosa Rogers 1856: 32 .
Riley et al. (2003) listed this species from Arizona, California, New Mexico, Texas, Utah, and Mexico. Beyond this, Hatch (1971) reported it from Oregon and Washington, but these states are beyond the otherwise recognized range of this more southern species. We suspect that Hatch’s records are incorrect, and based on mislabeled or misidentified specimens. Host plants are various species of
Asteraceae View in CoL , especially of Ambrosia View in CoL and Flourensia ( Clark et al. 2004) View in CoL .
