Description of Streptomyces cocklensis BK View in CoL 1I29

Cells are Gram-staining-positive, non-flagellated and filamentous. Colonies are rhizoid, circular, aggregated and bright brown colored on ISP2 View Materials media at 30° C. Negative for arginine dihydrolase, esculin hydrolysis, β -galactosidase, gelatinase, glucose fermentation, indole production, nitrate reduction and urease in API 20NE. Does not utilize N -acetyl-glucosamine, adipic acid, L-arabinose, capric acid, D-glucose, malic acid, D-maltose, D-mannitol, D-mannose, phenylacetic acid, potassium gluconate and trisodium citrate. Strain BK 1I29 (= NIBRBAC 000498091) has been isolated from a plant root, Naejang Mountain , Jeonbuk Province, Korea.
