Syringolaimus annae Lima, Lins, Da Silva & Esteves, 2009
Lima et al., 2009: p. 121–125, figs 1–2, table 1 ( South–West Atlantic , off coast of Brazil, Campos Basin, 750– 1950 m, silt-clay), males and females. Cuticle smooth along the entire body. Outer labial and cephalic papillae in two circles. Ventral pore and ventral gland cell body present. Caudal glands present but spinneret absent, tail tip attenuated and pointed. Monorchic. No supplementary organs mentioned in the text of the description but midventral cuticle distinctly thickened just anterior to the cloacal opening (fig. 1 G, H).
Syringolaimus brevicaudatus Micoletzky, 1922 sp. inq.
Micoletzky, 1922: p. 96–97 (Red Sea, Suez, “an der Hafenmauer”), only female. Schuurmans Stekhoven, 1943: p. 340, Abb. 12 (Mediterranean, Alexandria, “unter Steinen in der Gezeitenzone”), only female. Timm, 1963: p. 46, fig. 4 B–E (Arabian Sea), only female (as Syringolaimus aff. brevicaudatus ). The species is poorly described and illustrated. Short body, relatively short tail and non-striated cuticle on the tail may constitute diagnostic features of the species.
Syringolaimus caspersi Gerlach, 1951 sp. inq.
Gerlach, 1951: p. 194–196, Abb. 1 a–d (Black Sea, Bulgarian coast, brackish pools), only females and juveniles. Similar to previous species in small body size and differs by a bit longer tail.
