Life forms and Remarks. ZS(C) LB species. The above two specimens of the genus Laemostenus Bonelli, 1810 are the first records from KSA. These specimens belong to the L. quadricollis species group of subgenus Laemostenus (in the sense of Casale 1988), including L. aegyptiacus Schatzmayr, 1936 ; L. antonrichteri Casale, 1988 ; L. bergvalli Jeanne, 1996 ; L. croyi Casale & Wrase 2012 ; L. heinzi Casale, 1988 ; L. libanensis (Piochard de la Brûlerie, 1876) ; L. luristanus Casale, 1988 ; L. parallelocollis (Reiche, 1855) ; L. phoenicius Casale & Wrase, 2012 ; L. quadricollis (Redtenbacher, 1843) ; and L. sinaiticus Casale & Assmann, 2017 ( Casale & Assmann 2017). In the Near East and the Middle East this species group has been reported from CY, EG, IL, IR, LB, SY, TR ( Casale & Wrase 2012; Casale & Assmann 2017). During the present study, the two above adult specimens were collected by pitfall traps set in an African pencil cedar forest community at 2761 m and in an Olea europaea community at 2285 m. At this time, the identity of the species cannot be confirmed until additional material of this group becomes available to study morphological variability of this species group (A. Casale, personal communication).
