This pantropical invasive species was generally found in areas subject to more intensive human influence. The Ivinga site is not near any buildings but is near a road and a petroleum pipeline. The specimens collected near the road to the beach may have been introduced with the laterite road bed material that had been trucked in to make a stable road across the nearly pure sand prevailing in the coastal areas.
