Type Locality: Argentina, Corrientes Prov., Costa Mansión, 10 km S Empedrado (28 o 02’S, 58 o 49’W) GoogleMaps .
Vernacular Names: Roig's Tuco-tuco.
Distribution: Rio Paraná in Corrientes Prov. ( Argentina).
Discussion: Not listed by Redford and Eisenberg (1992) but recognized by Galliari et al. (1996). Karyotype has 2n=48 and FN=80 ( Ortells et al., 1990, but see Reig et al. 1992).
