Elytra short, just over half the length of the abdomen, usually exposing 3+ abdominal segments (abdomens sometimes curl downwards, and if so, so a lateral view is necessary to compare abdominal and elytral lengths; A), elytra in dorsal view with lateral margin straight for about 2/3 of their length, then bending towards the tip or slightly concave on apical 1/3 ( B)..............................................................................
