Tenthredo caspica Mocsáry, 1883
A junior subjective synonym of Tenthredo (Maculedo) vestita André, 1881 . Synonymy by Enslin (1920).
TYPES. Tenthredo caspica Mocsáry, 1883: 7 . Syntype (s) Ƥ, “Caucasus; in territorio Maris Caspii”.
= Tenthredella celsia Enslin, 1912b: 104 . Unjustified replacement name for “ Tenthredo caucasica Mocsáry, 1883 ” which is only a lapsus calami for T. caspica by Konow (1905a: 139): “ T. caucasica, Mocsáry, Ertek. Term. Kör. Vol. 13, p. 7 (1883)”.
DISCUSSION. In the HNHM collection, a female was found labelled “Novorossisk. Russ. m.”, “ Allantus vestitus André caspicus Mocs.” (Mocsáry’s handwriting), “ Allantus laetus Knw.” (Konow’s handwriting). This specimen could be a syntype, but because Novorossisk is situated at the Black Sea, and not at the Caspian Sea (type locality according to Mocsáry), the status of this specimen remains uncertain. It belongs to T. vestita .
