This species was previously known from the Antilles, Colombia, Venezuela, Guyana, Brazil (MG, MS, SC), Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Paraguay and Argentina ( Drake 1952; Drake and Plaumann 1953, 1955; Drake and Hussey 1955; Nieser and Melo 1997), and is recorded for the first time from Espírito Santo State.

Brazil: Espírito Santo – Pancas , sítio na beira da estrada, brejo, ES-10 , 28 March 2009 (F.F.F. Moreira): 2 macropterous males, 1 apterous male [−19.23781 ◦ / −40.80644 ◦, 99 m asl] .
