Representatives of this peculiar species are rare in collections, and have been found so far in Venezuela, Guyana and Brazil (AM) ( Spangler and Froeschner 1987). It is recorded here for the first time from southeastern Brazil, which represents a great increase of the known distribution for this species.

São Mateus , Estrada BR-381, próximo à Nova Venécia , poças laterais da cachoeira, fundo de pedra [−18.68056 ◦ / −40.18241 ◦], 9 February 2009 (F.F.F. Moreira): 1 macropterous male, 5 nymphs. Sooretama , Reserva Biológica de Sooretama , Cachoeira Bom Jardim [18 ◦ 59 ′ 56.5 ′′ S, 40 ◦ 14 ′ 4 ′′ W 39 m asl], lados da cachoeira, 29–30 April 2009 (F.F.F.
