Limnogonus ignotus Drake & Harris, 1934 View in CoL
( Figs. 2D–F View FIGURE 2 , 3B View FIGURE 3 )
Limnogonus ignotus Drake & Harris, 1934: 205–206 View in CoL (original description).
Identification. Our specimens were identified based on the length of antennomere I less than or equal to the width of the head across the eyes; the body length of apterous specimens 5.8–6.2 mm, the macropterous specimens 7 mm long; and male abdominal sternum VIII without a curved spine-like protuberance ( Fig. 2F View FIGURE 2 ) ( Nieser 1970; Nieser & Melo 1997).
Discussion. The specimens from Rio Grande do Norte have the dorsal part of the mesopleuron brown to lightbrown ( Fig. 2F View FIGURE 2 ), similar to L. profugus Drake & Harris, 1930 , and opposed to the reddish-brown typical of L. ignotus . However, the length of antennomere I less than or equal to the width of the head across the eyes, in addition to the total length of the body, led us to identify the specimens examined here as L. ignotus .
