Head with fine and diffuse punctation and wrinkles. Antennae reaching beyond middle of pronotum (when laid back), antennomeres dilated from A5 onwards, from A6 onwards as long as wide. Elytral base margined in the middle, humeral margins smooth, punctation with a basal seta. Prosternal length smaller than procoxal diameter. AMP rectangular to trapezoid, front margin bulging. Gular pads large, not adjoined.</p><p>Description.</p><p>Length: 10.5–12.8 mm. Head black, glossy, frons with fine, more-or-less diffuse punctation, vertex with slightly larger punctation and wrinkles; labrum and anterior part of clypeus yellow, smooth, glossy, posterior part of clypeus black, smooth, with punctation, palpi brown, tips yellowish to whitish. Antennae black, reaching beyond middle of pronotum, antennomeres dilated from A5 onwards, from A6 onwards as long as wide, tips slightly lighter, A11 longer than A10, narrow, inner side subparallel, outer ide very slightly curved, slightly constricted at tip. EyW: 0.53–0.62 mm; EyD: 0.94–1.16 mm; EyD/EyW: 1.85. Pronotum dark red-brown, glossy, apex narrowly black, base broader bordered black, broadest in or before middle, slightly sinuate, constricted towards apex and very slightly more constricted towards base; in front of the indication of the transverse depression with diffuse punctations, behind the transverse depression with dense and coarse wrinkles, the basal black part almost smooth. PL: 2.64–3.72 mm; PW: 1.84–2.6 mm; PL/PW: 1.43.</p><p>Elytra with basal part black, then a long red-brown part, bordered by an oblique more-or-less broad transverse fascia, reaching from the suture to the side margin, long apical part black, subparallel, only very slightly dilated towards apex; elytral base margined in the middle; punctation in 10 regular rows, row 1 reaching towards the beginning of the yellow transverse fascia, row 2 reaching the end of the yellow fascia, from row 3 to 6 with increasing length beyond the yellow fascia, rows 8–9 till the beginning of the yellow fascia, row 10 ends before the yellow fascia; punctation large, deep, in the middle slightly longitudinal, diameter of punctation larger than interstices, becoming conspicuously smaller in and beyond the yellow fascia, apex with very fine and diffuse punctation, no microsculpture, only small isolated punctures; elytral punctation with a basal seta.</p><p>EL: 6.92–8.67 mm; EW: 3.0–4.0 mm; EL/EW: 2.10.</p><p>Legs stout, black, if red-brown, only tarsal soles yellowish.</p><p>Lower surface black to dark red-brown or predominantly black, prosternum in front and mesoventrite in the middle dark red-brown, first abdominal ventrite with a relatively large, yellow macula on sides. Gula dark red-brown, U-shaped, smooth, distal margins strongly bulging, gular pads large, not adjoined. Prosternal length smaller than procoxal diameter. AMP rectangular to trapezoid, front margin bulging, slightly dipped in front. Mesoventrite with large, irregular punctation. Metaventrite almost smooth.</p><p>Genitalia. See Fig. 22.</p><p>Distribution: Only known from South Africa.</p><p>Etymology. Length: 6.9–9.7 mm.</p><p>Head black, glossy, with fine, relatively dense and conspicuous punctation; labrum, palpi and anterior part of clypeus yellow (tips of maxillary palpi sometimes blackened). Antennae mostly not reaching base of pronotum (when laid back), light brown to brown, antennomeres dilated from A4 onwards, from A5 onwards wider than long, A11 shorter than A9+A10, basally slightly bulbous, slightly constricted towards tip. EyW: 0.30–0.48 mm; EyD: 0.62–0.91 mm; WyD/EyW: 2.03.</p><p>Pronotum variable, slightly constricted in front, more constricted towards base, slightly sinuate before middle, black, sometimes with a reddish gleam, narrowly reddish in front and sometimes at base; almost smooth, with fine, relatively dense and conspicuous punctation, sometimes additionally wrinkled.</p><p>PL: 1.46–2.18 mm; PW: 1.12–1.76 mm; PL/PW: 1.25.</p><p>Elytra black, each humerus with a yellowish macula, shoulder with an oblique yellowish macula, with toothlike extensions (very acute and more-or-less long) towards humeri and apex, not reaching the side margin and the suture, in the middle with a transverse yellowish (slightly broader) macula, with more-or-less long extensions towards shoulder and apex, this macula reaches the side margin and the suture; elytral base margined, elytra subparallel, more-or-less dilated towards apex. Punctation in 10 rows towards the middle, then more irregular and very fine, apex almost smooth, punctation small, roundish to irregular, diameter conspicuously smaller than interstices, interstices with very fine and very small intermediate punctation; elytral punctation with a basal seta.</p><p>EL: 4.6–6.58 mm; EW: 2.2–3.17 mm; EL/EW: 2.00.</p><p>Legs dark brown to black brown, tips of femora, tibiae and tarsi lighter brown or yellowish (with tibial base darkened).</p><p>Lower surface brown to black brown, base of femora lighter; abdomen lighter brown, intersegmental sclerites light yellowish. Gula U-shaped, smooth, with very isolated punctation, gular pads large, not adjoined. Prosternal length smaller than procoxal diameter. AMP rectangular, margins almost not bulging. Mesoventrite with coarse, more-or-less deep punctation. Metaventrite almost smooth, with very fine and very diffuse punctation.</p><p>Genitalia. See Fig. 23. Same genitalia in all variations.</p><p>Distribution: Ethiopia, The Gambia, Guinea, Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa, Transvaal.</p><p>Etymology. Antennae reaching base of pronotum (when laid back), antennomeres dilated from A5 onwards, A8 wider than long. Elytral base margined, punctation with a basal seta, elytra with a typical, oblique, yellow-brown fascia. Prosternal length smaller than procoxal diameter. AMP rectangular to trapezoid; not conspicuously bulging. Gular pads large, slightly adjoined.</p><p>Description.</p><p>Length: 5.8–8.0 mm.</p><p>Head dark brown to black, glossy, with diffuse (fine) punctation and fine wrinkles; labrum and palpi light brown to yellow, clypeus red-brown. Antennae reaching base of pronotum (when laid back), brown, antennomeres dilated from A5 onwards, A6 slightly longer than wide, A7 equal in length and width, A8 wider than long, A9 and A10 more-or-less equal in length, A11 shorter than A9+A10, broad, not very much constricted towards tip.</p><p>EyW: 0.24–0.32 mm; EyD: 0.66–0.84 mm; WyD/EyW: 2.68.</p><p>Pronotum slightly constricted in front, more constricted towards base, slightly sinuate before middle, dark brown, apex and base more-or-less reddish; anterior transverse depression in holotype not conspicuous, in paratype more conspicuous, in both cases with diffuse, fine punctation.</p><p>PL: 1.56–2.0 mm; PW: 1.02–1.42 mm; PL/PW: 1.54.</p><p>Elytra brown, glossy, shoulders light brown, in the middle of elytra with an oblique, yellow-brown fascia, reaching from outer margin to suture; elytral base margined. Punctation in 10 rows, almost reaching the apex, punctation deep and conspicuous, in humeral part diameter of punctation smaller than interstices, towards the yellow-brown fascia with increasing diameter (interstices smaller than diameter of punctation), behind the fascia diameter of punctation conspicuously smaller than interstices; punctation more longitudinal, with a basal seta.</p><p>EL: 2.48–3.86 mm; EW: 1.14–1.64 mm; EL/EW: 2.26.</p><p>Legs light brown to brown.</p><p>Lower surface. Head and prothorax red-brown to black brown, meso- and metaventrite brown to dark red-brown, abdomen light red-brown, intersegmental sclerites yellow. Gula light brown, U-shaped, with a broadly bulging margin, with slight transverse wrinkles, gular pads large, slightly adjoined. Prosternal length smaller than procoxal diameter. AMP rectangular to trapezoid, margins not conspicuously bulging, almost smooth. Mesoventrite in the middle with deep and coarse punctation, sides smooth. Metaventrite almost smooth.</p><p>Genitalia. See Fig. 24.</p><p>Distribution: Only known from Tanzania.</p><p>Etymology: The specific epithet, obliquefasciata, is composed from the Latin obliquus, - a, -um (= oblique), and fasciatus, - a; - um (= with fascia). Head and pronotum with conspicuous punctation.Antennae more-or-less reaching base of pronotum (when laid back), antennomeres dilated from A5 onwards, longer than wide. Elytral base margined, punctation with a basal seta. Prosternal length more-or-less like procoxal diameter. AMP not rectangular, bulging only in front. Gular pads large, separated or adjoined.</p><p>Description. Length: 4.5–9.9 mm.</p><p>Head black, with dense, conspicuous punctation; labrum slightly and broadly emarginate or broadly rounded; clypeus with coarse punctation (diameter larger than punctation on head), not emarginate. Antennae more-or-less reaching base of pronotum (when laid back), antennomeres dilated from A5 onwards, longer than wide, A11 conspicuously shorter than A9+A10, not bulbous, more-or-less narrow, only very slightly constricted towards tip.</p><p>EyW: 0.16–0.38 mm; EyD: 0.52–1.06 mm; EyD/EyW: 2.78.</p><p>Pronotum black, subparallel in front, conspicuously constricted towards base, slightly sinuate before middle; with dense, conspicuous, more-or-less deep punctation.</p><p>PL: 1.04–2.36 mm; PW: 0.8–1.7 mm; PL/PW: 1.35.</p><p>Elytra totally black or with an orange (yellow-brown) transverse fascia (sometimes double banded) or an orange fascia more-or-less triangularly extended towards base (but far away from scutellum) and narrowly along the suture towards apex, apex broadly orange. Elytral base margined, elytra subparallel, slightly to conspicuously dilated towards apex. Punctation in 10 rows, extending beyond the middle, diameter of punctation conspicuously smaller than interstices, becoming smaller behind the orange transverse fascia, disappearing at apex or becoming irregular; punctation with a basal seta; interstices with microsculpture.</p><p>EL: 3.04–6.92 mm; EW: 1.36–3.21 mm; EL/EW: 2.19.</p><p>Legs yellow-brown to red-brown (or dark brown), tibial base sometimes darkened.</p><p>Lower surface. Head and thorax dark brown to black brown, abdomen yellow-brown to red-brown. Gula transversely wrinkled or smooth (in one case), gular pads large, separated or adjoined. Prosternal length more-or-less like procoxal diameter. AMP not rectangular, bulging only in front. Mesoventrite very coarsely, deeply (with variable diameter) and densely punctate. Length: 10.1–15.0 mm.</p><p>Head black, glossy, almost smooth, anterior half with very fine wrinkles; labrum and anterior part of clypeus black, smooth, glossy, with fine and diffuse punctation; palpi yellowish, terminal maxillary palpomere brown. Antennae brown, reaching beyond middle of pronotum but not quite reaching base (when laid back), antennomeres dilated from A5 onwards, not strongly (triangularly) dilated, more spherical, antennomeres longer than wide, A11 longer than A10, narrow, inner side subparallel, outer side only very slightly curved and slightly constricted at tip.</p><p>EyW: 0.53–0.64 mm; EyD: 0.92–1.28 mm; EyD/EyW: 1.92.</p><p>Pronotum red-brown to dark red-brown, glossy, base sometimes bordered black, mostly broadest in middle, sometimes before middle, constricted towards base and apex; with fine and diffuse (sometimes denser) punctation, in the middle sometimes wrinkled.</p><p>PL: 2.64–3.72 mm; PW: 1.84–2.6 mm; PL/PW: 1.43.</p><p>Elytra with shoulders and disc red-brown, humeri more-or-less black, behind the red part with a transverse, not sharply limited yellow transverse fascia, reaching the suture and mostly the side margin, behind the transverse fascia brown to black, subparallel, only slightly dilated towards apex; elytral base margined in the middle, punctation in 10 regular rows, rows 1 and 2 only reaching the beginning of the yellow transverse fascia or reaching the end or going through and beyond, rows 3–10 increasingly larger; punctation large, deep, becoming increasingly longitudinal, and smaller than interstices, apex with fine and diffuse punctation, no microsculpture, only small isolated punctures; elytral punctation with a basal seta.</p><p>EL: 8.0– 10.25 mm; EW: 2.92–4.58 mm; EL/EW: 2.29.</p><p>Legs more-or-less stout, red-brown to brown, if red-brown, tarsi darkened, tarsal soles lighter.</p><p>Lower surface dark red-brown or predominantly black, prosternum in front and mesoventrite in the middle dark red-brown, abdomen light brown to dark red-brown, first ventrite with large, yellow maculae on sides. Gula red-brown, U-shaped, smooth, distal margins strongly bulging (and blackened), gular pads large, mostly separated, sometimes adjoined. Prosternal length slightly smaller than coxal diameter. AMP rectangular to trapezoid, front margin bulging, slightly dipped in front, posterior part smooth. Mesoventrite with large, irregular punctation. Metaventrite with fine, relatively dense punctation.</p><p>Genitalia. See Fig. 26.</p><p>Distribution: Only known from South Africa.</p><p>Etymology. Gula pads adjoined or separated.</p><p>Description. Length: 6.1–7.8 mm.</p><p>Head black, glossy, conspicuously wrinkled in front, middle with diffuse punctation, vertex with punctation and wrinkles; labrum and palpi whitish yellow, anterior part of clypeus brown. Antennae reaching base of pronotum (when laid back), in males longer, brown, larger part of antennomeres light brown; antennomeres dilated from A5 onwards, from A7 onwards wider than long, A11 shorter than A9+A10, slightly bulbous in the middle, slightly constricted towards tip.</p><p>EyW: 0.38–0.49 mm; EyD: 0.44–0.62 mm; EyD/EyW: 1.18.</p><p>Pronotum slightly constricted in front, more constricted towards base, slightly sinuate before middle, black, anterior margin very narrowly reddish or pronotum in general more red-brown; anterior transverse depression slightly more conspicuous, in front with punctation and wrinkles, then with coarse, more-or-less deep wrinkles, base with a pair of gibbosities.</p><p>PL: 1.26–1.80 mm; PW: 0.96–1.40 mm; PL/PW: 1.3.</p><p>Elytra black, often with a red-brown gleam, glossy. Elytral base margined, elytra subparallel, only slightly dilated towards apex. Punctation in 10 rows, the first three rows reaching slightly beyond the middle or rows 2 and 3 almost reaching apex, rows 4 to 8 almost reaching apex, rows 9 and 10 much shorter, apex more-or-less smooth, punctation small, roundish to slightly longitudinal, diameter of first three rows smaller than interstices, then diameter of outer rows increasing, interstices almost smooth; punctation with a basal seta.</p><p>EL: 3.74–5.21 mm; EW: 2.0– 2.62 mm; EL/EW: 1.93.</p><p>Legs uniformly brown to light brown.</p><p>Lower surface. Head, pro- and mesothorax dark red-brown, metaventrite and abdomen light red-brown to light brown. Gula light brown, U-shaped, with slight transverse wrinkles, gular pads medium-sized, almost adjoined or conspicuously separated. Prosternal length more-or-less equal to procoxal diameter. AMP more-or-less rectangular, anterior and posterior margins bulging, with coarse and deep punctation. Mesoventrite in the middle with very deep and coarse punctation, sides smooth.
