This record was the first one for the Canary Islands.

Now, L. occidentalis can be reported from the island of La Gomera, too: On 12-11-2023, an adult specimen was found near the village of Las Rosas in the municipality of Agulo, located in the northern part of the island. A photograph of the specimen was uploaded to the online database Observation.org (see here).

VAN DER HEYDEN (2023), based on a photographic record (see here), reported Beosus maritimus (Scopoli, 1763) (Heteroptera: Rhyparochromidae) as new for the island of Fuerteventura. This report was based on a misidentification and has to be corrected: The photographs show a specimen of the very similar species Dieuches schmitzi Reuter, 1893 (Heteroptera: Rhyparochromidae), first reported for the island of Fuerteventura by RIEGER (2020).

https://treatment.plazi.org/id/03DC9F0FFFA7FFB6CEDEFA89FC1A98B3	Public Domain	No known copyright restrictions apply.
