Seeds arillate; embryotega circular, lateral; hilum prominently linear, in a ventral irregular deep groove.

This genus comprises approximately 28 species distributed in the paleotropics, mainly in Asia, with a few species in Africa. Thirteen species occur in Thailand. Amischotolype gracilis (Ridl.) I.M.Turner (1993: 53) is presented here as a new record for Thailand. Distribution maps of all Thai Amischotolype species are provided (Figures 4–5). The indument of the internodes, nodes, leaf sheaths, and upper surface and margin of the leaf blade, the inflorescence position, number of flowers per inflorescence, the length and indument of the sepals, the length and shape of the anthers, and the shape, size, and indument of the capsules have all proven useful in the delimitation of Thai Amischotolype species. The species may be distinguished using the following key:

https://treatment.plazi.org/id/03E987FCCC5CFFCCFF2C5BBD7F60D39B	Public Domain	No known copyright restrictions apply.
