Body length 7.0–9.0 mm.</p><p>Male. Head. Eye with slightly dense faint yellow ciliae. Frons about 2x as wide as anterior ocellus, and subequal to postpedicel, frontal vitta black; 7–8 pairs of frontal setae, situated on lower 3/5 of frons, without orbital seta; fronto-orbital plate are adjacent at the narrowest point, fronto-orbital and parafacial with gray pruinosity, parafacial slightly shorter than postpedicel, gena with gray pruinosity, genal and postgena setulae black, genal height about 1/4 of eye height, anterior margin of gena with one row of slightly upcurved setae. Antenna black, postpedicel about 3.5x as long as broad; arista long plumose, the longest hairs subequal to postpedicel, arista slightly enlarged at base; epistoma not protruding, vibrissal angle situated behind frontal angle; prementum with weak pruinosity and shinning, about 3x as long as broad, palpus black, as long as prementum; labellum small, posterior margin with teeth.</p><p>Thorax. Ground colour black, with weak light brown pruinosity; scutum with sparse light gray pruinosity, with four black vittae, the distance between the inner vittae (between acr rows) is wider than the width of the inner vitta, the inner vitta (between acr rows) almost reaching scutellum. Scutellum has the same color than scutum, lateral and ventral marginal surfaces of scutellum setulose, apical scutellar setae long, basal scutellar setae longer than apical seta, prebasal scutellar setae short, about 2/5x as long as basal scutellar seta; acr 0+1, dc 2+4, ial 0+2, pra about 1/2 the length of posterior notopleural seta, notopleuron conspicuously setulose near the notopleural setae, meron setulose; prosternum, mid-dorsal excavation of proepisternum, anepimeron and katepimeron bare; anterior anepisternal seta 1, katepisternal setae 2+2, spiracles brown.</p><p>Wing. Wing slightly transparent, wing membrane brown, veins dark brown, basicosta yellow, tegula brown, costal spine short, less than 1/2 of r-m, subcosta bend in a bow shape, Rs node bare, M straight, r-m and dm-cu with dark spots; calypter yellow, lower calypter tongue-like; halter yellow.</p><p>Legs. All black; fore tibia without median p; mid femur without conspicuous av row, with developed pv on basal half only, with 2 sub-apical pd; mid tibia without ad and pv, with 2 p; hind femur with a row of 8 or 9 long av distributed evenly as a comb along the apical half, without pv; hind tibia with 2 av, 2 ad and 5–6 long bristle-like pd on basal half; all tarsi longer than tibiae; claws and pulvilli all long, approximate equal to fifth tarsomere.</p><p>Abdomen. Ground colour black, oblong in dorsal view, with dense gray pruinosity, sides of each tergite with shifting spots, tergites 3 and 4 with a pair of black brown spots, tergites 3 and 4 with median vitta, sometimes not conspicuous on tergite 4; tergite 5 with some small brown spots in the base of 1–2 setae, and a complete row of median marginal setae, tergites 4 and 5 with complete posterior marginal row; sternite 1 bare; sternite 5 lateral lobe short, slightly enlarged apically, rectangular basally, with 1–2 long setae rows on both sides.</p><p>Terminalia. The inner lobe of cerci conspicuously long and papillary, without conspicuous outer lobe. Surstylus short and thick, with hairs in ventral surfaces. Pregonite approximately equal to the length of postgonite. Postgonite with spines.</p><p>Female. Unknown.</p><p>Type material. The specific name refers to the row of 8 or 9 long anteroventral setae distributed evenly as a comb along the apical half of hind femur. The greek word “ cten ” means comb, “ phora ” means motion. It is a female noun in the nominative singular.</p><p>Distribution. China (Xinjiang).</p><p>Remarks. Frons about 2.5x as wide as anterior ocellus, and about 1.2x as wide as postpedicel, frontal vitta black, significantly wider than fronto-orbital plate; 5–6 pairs of frontal setae on lower 3/5 of frons, without orbital setae, fronto-orbital plate and parafacial with gray white pruinosity, parafacial about 1.2x as wide as postpedicel, gena with gray pruinosity, genal setulae black, genal height about 1/3 of eye height, anterior margin of gena with one row of slightly curved upward setae. Antenna black, postpedicel about 2.5x as long as broad; arista long plumose, the longest hairs about 1.2x as long as postpedicel; epistoma not protruding, vibrissal angle situated behind frontal angle; prementum with weak pruinosity, about 2.2x as long as broad, palpus black, longer than prementum; labellum about 1/2x as long as prementum;</p><p>Thorax. All black; fore tibia without median p; mid femur without developed av, with complete pv row, 3–4 big and long on basal half, with 2 apical p; mid tibia with 2 p; hind femur with complete av row, without pv, hind tibia with 3 short median av, 3–4 ad, 1 sub-basal pd, without apical pv; all tarsi longer than tibiae; claw and pulvillus long and big, approximate as long as fifth tarsomere.</p><p>Abdomen. Ground-colour black, conical in dorsal view, with dense gray pruinosity, without shifting spots, tergites 3 and 4 respective with a pair of dark brown spots; the spots in tergite 3 about 1/4 the length of the tergite, and tergite 4 smaller; tergite 3 posterior marginal setae large on the side, short in the middle, tergites 4 and 5 posterior marginal setae complete and upright, tergite 5 with complete discal setae row and median marginal setae, one row of long discal seta, tergite 5 setae all upright; sternite 1 bare; sternite 5 with long fringes.</p><p>Terminalia. Cerci invaginated in pre-apical part, the distal width of the posterior view about 1/2 of the basal width. Surstylus elliptical in shape, and with many hairs. Pregonite approximately equal to the length of postgonite. Postgonite with spines.</p><p>Female. Unknown.</p><p>Type material. Body length 5.4–5.6 mm.</p><p>Male. Head. Eye bare. Frons about 3x as wide as anterior ocellus, and subequal to postpedicel, frontal vitta black, 5 pairs of frontal setae, situated on lower half of frons, without orbital setae; fronto-orbital plate are adjacent at the narrowest point, fronto-orbital plate slightly wider than frontal vitta, slightly narrower than anterior ocellus, fronto-orbital plate and parafacial with gray pruinosity, parafacial subequal to postpedicel width; genal setulae black, genal height about 1/5 of eye height, anterior margin of gena with one row of slightly upcurved setae. Antenna brown, postpedicel long, about 3.2x as long as broad; arista long and short-haired, the longest hairs equal in width to basal arista; epistoma not protruding, vibrissal angle situated behind frontal angle; prementum with gray pruinosity, about 2x as long as broad; palpus black, slightly longer then prementum, labellum long, slightly shorter than prementum.</p><p>Thorax. Ground-colour black and shinning, with sparse gray pruinosity; scutum with four black vittae, the inner vitta (between acr rows) not reaching scutellum; scutellum black, with gray pruinosity except for the base, lateral and ventral surfaces bare, apical scutellar setae and prebasal scutellar setae long; acr 0+1, dc 2+3, ial 0+2, pra hair-like, notopleuron without short hairs, katepimeron setulosa; prosternum, anepimeron and meron bare, anterior anepisternal seta 1, katepisternal setae 2+2; spiracles dark brown.</p><p>Wing. Wing membrane pale brown, veins brown, basicosta and tegula black, costal spine developed, subcosta bend in a bow shape, R 1 bare, M straight, Rs node bare, r-m with conspicuous dark spot; dm-cu straight, with slight dark spot; calypter white, yellow on margin; lower calypter tongue-like; halter brown.</p><p>Legs. All black; fore femur with complete rows of ad and pv; fore tibia without median p, ventral surface without dense hairs; mid femur with 1–2 long hair-like pv on basal half, a strong apical p, without av row and apical a; mid tibia with 1 p, 2 pd; hind femur with 4–5 long av on apical half, a row of ad, without developed pv; hind tibia with 1 sub-median ad, 2 short sub-median av, 1–2 short pre-apical av, shorter than tibia diameter, a apical pd, the seta was not mentioned are absent; all claws and pulvilli short, all tarsi longer than tibiae.</p><p>Abdomen. Ground colour black, long-oval in dorsal view, with dense gray pruinosity, without shifting patches, tergite 3 with a pair of triangle dark brown patches, approximately about 1/2 the length of this tergite; tergite 4 with a pair of small dark patches, about 1/4 the length of this tergite, tergites 2–5 posteriorly with 2 pairs of long setae. Sternite 5 slightly enlarged sub-apically, with 1–2 long seta rows on both sides.</p><p>Terminalia. Cerci wide, slightly shorter than its length, both inner and outer lobes exist, the outer lobe is larger than the inner lobe. Surstylus slightly thick, with a protrusion near the apex, and with several small hairs in ventral surface. Pregonite slightly shorter than the postgonite.</p><p>Female. Unknown.</p><p>Type material. Holotype ♂, CHINA: Bayinbulak-Kunes Grassland, Hejing County, Bayingolin Mongol Autonomous Prefecture, 2140– 1680 m, 43°22′18N, 84°77′34E, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, 1.vii.2018, Chuntian Zhang and Xinyi Li leg.
