03AD87FEFF9AFFD4FF00B1D1FEA22F84.taxon	description	Figures 1 – 2 Male. General color brown (Fig. 1). The head is mostly yellowish-brown, featuring a brown marking that covers the ocellar triangle. This marking extends forward to the pale M-line, transitioning to brown, with a narrow triangular marking located just ahead of the M-line. The pronotum is trapezoidal, with the posterior part slightly narrower than the anterior part. Antennae and palpi yellow brown; legs pale to yellowish brown, femorotibial joint dark brown. Wings subhyaline, veins brown. Forewing length 15 mm, hindwing length 14 mm, body length 17 mm. Tergum 1 – 6 unmodified. Tergum 7 features a sclerotized area in its mid-posterior part, behind which is a pair of cleft lobes adorned with abundant sensilla basiconica at their tips. Tergum 8 possesses a tongue-shaped, upcurved process, featuring numerous sensilla basiconica along its distal margin. The hemitergal processes of tergum 10 are sclerotized and exhibit a finger-like shape. The penis tube is long and tubular with a high degree of sclerotization, exhibiting a slight curvature (Fig. 2). At the ventral end of the penis tube, there is a process that is bifurcated, forming a " C " shape, with the ends of the bifurcation close to each other. The endophallus is relatively short and has tiny spines on its surface. Female, egg, larva. 03AD87FEFF9AFFD4FF00B1D1FEA22F84.taxon	diagnosis	Diagnosis and remarks: The new species appears to be closely related to N. furcostyla Li & Qin, 2013 (see figs. 1 – 2 in Li et al., 2013) from Guangxi Province, as it shares similar terminalia and penis structures. However, it can be distinguished from N. furcostyla by the male’s ventral end of the penis tube, which exhibits a " C " shaped bifurcation.	en	Zeng, Liang-Liang, Huo, Qing-Bo, Du, Yu-Zhou (2025): A new species of the genus Neoperla (Plecoptera: Perlidae) from Guizhou, China with redescription of N. latamaculata Du, 2005. Head mostly orange with triangular darker area covering ocelli and triangular dark area anterior to M-line, area around compound eyes pale; compound eyes black; antennae brown to dark brown. The pronotum is wider anteriorly with pointed anterior and rounded posterior angles, rugosities and a darkened midline mark the middle third of the pronotum with a diffuse stripe. Antennae and palpi yellow brown; wing membrane subhyaline, veins brown; legs pale to yellowish brown, femorotibial joint dark brown. Body length 17 – 19 mm (n = 3). Terga 1 – 6 unmodified. Tergum 7 with posterior margin slightly extended into a subquadrate process, covered with sensilla basiconica. Tergum 8 possesses a slender, erect, and recurved medial tongue-like process, which is adorned with sensilla basiconica. Hemitergal processes of tergum 10 sclerotized and slightly bent ventrally at middle. The penis tube is plump, featuring a sclerotized patch on the dorsal surface that extends to the tip, with paired spiny lobes on the ventral surface near the apex. 03AD87FEFF99FFD5FF00B7EDFB492AB3.taxon	discussion	Remarks. This morphological description of this species is brief and available only in Chinese; and the original illustrations are somewhat blurry. We examined the holotype as well as recently collected specimens from Chongqing (Fig. 3). Due to nearly 35 years of preservation in alcohol, many features of the holotype have become less distinct. In contrast, we photographed the adult male penis of a specimen collected in Chongqing, which was better preserved. Herein, we present novel, clear color images to aid accurate identification in the future.
