However, it distinguished by male pleopod 1 exopod deeply bilobed and endopod with several clumps at P. golestanicus, the male pleopod 1 exopod is gently bilobed and the apex of the endopod has a lobe bearing a row of a few small setae at the apex. In P. ehsani and P. gakalicus, the apex of male exopod is uncracked and the endopod has a line of small setae at the apex.

https://treatment.plazi.org/id/03B987FEFFE1FFD25664FED0FB47FF4A	Public Domain	No known copyright restrictions apply. Noduli on pereonites 1–4 farther from lateral margins than those on pereonites 5–7 (Figures 9 (A)

(G)). Dorsum slightly granulated, with tricorn-shaped scale-setae (Figure 9 (B)). Cephalon with medial lobe, nearly quadrangular lateral lobe (Figure 9 (A)). Eye with 13–18 ommatidia. Antennula

3 articles; third article bearing a tuft of aesthetascs at apex (Figure 12 (A)). Antenna with fifth of peduncle longer than flagellum, flagellum with distal articles 1.3 times as long as proximal (Figure 9 (C)).

Pereonite 1 with rounded postero-lateral corner, posterior margin nearly round, pereonites postero-lateral corners nearly right-angled, pereonites 3–7 with acute postero-lateral corners and backwards (Figures 1 (H) and 9(A)). Pereopod 1 possesses a brush of long setae on its carpus and (Figure 9 (D)). Pereopod 6 merus and carpus fringed with setae (Figure 9 (E)). Pereopod 7 ischium margin with sparse setae, rostral surface with shallow depression (Figure 9 (F)).

Left mandible with molar process carrying 3 teeth and lacinia mobilis with straight edge molaris consisting of several plumose setae on a short common socket (Figure 12 (B)). Right with molar process carrying 3 and lacinia mobilis with 2 teeth; pars molaris consisting of plumose setae on a short common socket (Figure 12 (C)). First maxilla with outer branch bearing teeth; inner branch with 2 long penicils and a triangular posterior point (Figure 12 (E)). Second distally bilobate and setose (Figure 12 (D)); Maxilliped endite rectangular with 4 spurs, palp

(Figure 12 (F)).

Pleopods 1–5 exopod with monospiracular internal lungs (Figure 9 (G–K)). Male pleopod 1 exopod oval deeply bilobed, apex of inner lobe bears 3 setae, 2 slightly concave near bottom; endopod with broad apex acute and bent outwards, bearing several setae (Figure 9 (G)). Pleopod 2 exopod nearly triangular,

line of setae on the outer margin; endopod longer than exopod, distal article thin and long (Figure 9 (H)).

3–5 exopods bearing 1 line of setae on outer margin (Figure 9 (I–K)).Telson triangular, 1.8 times as long width, posterior apex pointed; uropodal exopod 3 times as long as protopod (Figure 9 (A)).

Size

Male 6–10 mm, female 11–14 mm.

Distribution

China (Gansu, Sichuan) .

Remarks

This species was originally recorded by Verhoeff (1940) and assigned to the subgenus Protracheoniscus (Mongoloniscus) Verhorff, 1917 . We examined the specimens of P. (M.) bocki Verhorff, 1940 and characters are consistent with Mongoloniscus . Thus, we here transfer it to Mongoloniscus .

Key to Chinese Protracheoniscus species

1.
