Holotype in UPNG, remaining paratypes in AMNH, BMNH, RMNH, UPNG. Menzies did not indicate the localities for paratypes, but merely listed them by region and sex. A22665 is presumably the paratype given as A22655 – the latter specimen is a small Rana from Itikinumu, 2000ft, Central Province (F. Description gave date of collection of holotype and associated paratypes as ix.1971 and date for 3798-3805, 3814-15 as i.1969; locality for 9087 was given as "by the Ok Ma". Electronic database gives ID for 3802 as Litoria amboinensis, and for 3803 as Litoria impura, both from Brown River, Central Province, within the series 3798-3805, which are otherwise registered as Litoria gracilenta (the former species identification for L. auae) from Daru; 8531-33 are not listed in the electronic database, but we presume the data are the same as for 8530. Paratypes 1698, 2087 (see below), 2820, 2826, 2952-54, and 2 x unregistered specimens not located. Paratypes listed by Menzies as UPNG 2097, 3922 and 3963 were incorrectly cited - these numbers apply respectively to a specimen of Litoria micromembrana, a Nactus and a microhylid. The numbers are presumed to be in error for 2087, 3822 and 3693, which are all Rana from within the range of R. garritor . The two unregistered paratypes given the temporary designations of sog3 and kam1 have not been identified, either among the unregistered material or those specimens registered since 1987, although the former, based on the prefix, may be from Sogeri. Menzies gave the type data as forest stream, ca 600m, near Eilogo Estate, Sogeri, Central Province, PNG (J.I. Menzies, 24.viii.1969). Holotype and located paratypes a little bleached. Paratype 5365 in poor condition – badly damaged by insects prior to preservation.

https://treatment.plazi.org/id/1B4B8799FFE50A0FDECD0A49FB94979B	Public Domain	No known copyright restrictions apply. Paratype 6179 not found, but number probably in error for 5179, which was located, but not listed by Menzies - 6179 is registered as a turtle ( Elseya). Paratypes listed by Menzies as 2788 and 4573 incorrectly cited - these numbers apply to a Nyctimystes and Litoria angiana, respectively; it is not clear what the correct numbers are. Paratype 2305 (Sineha, Madang, Madang Province, PNG (J. Menzies, 20.vii.1970)) noted in UPNG register as sent to AMNH, where it is registered as A84562, but with data Binek, Madang Province (J. Menzies, 20.vii.1970) and identity Rana garritor (L. Ford, pers. comm.). Paratype 3967 (Wau, near Adam's Park, Morobe Province, PNG (J. Menzies, 26.vi.1972)) recorded in register as sent to M. Tyler (and presumably passed on to SAMA). However, no trace of this specimen can now be found in that collection (M. Hutchinson, pers. comm.). Menzies gave the type data as a lily pond in Bulolo township, ca 700m, Morobe Province, PNG (J.I. Menzies, 20.xii.1970). Paratypes 1058, 3230 and 3232 were each cited twice in the list of specimens examined (1058 as both male and female; 3230 and 3232 as both from Central Highlands and Southeast PNG; the latter is correct); it is not clear whether these are all erroneous repetitions, or typographical errors for other specimens - all three numbers are parts of series of Rana . Menzies cited the holotype data as small tributary on Mai-U River, ca 80m, foot of Mt Suckling, PNG (J.I. Menzies, vi.1972). Holotype faded, illustrated in Günther (2003: fig. 6); paratypes generally in good condition.
