1B4B8799FFF30A19DECD0E49FAFD95F0.taxon	discussion	Remarks: Type series consists of 64 specimens, 38 males and 26 females (Menzies, 1987: 393), although registration numbers for 41 males and 25 females were cited (Menzies, 1987: 415, 417). Holotype in UPNG, remaining paratypes in AMNH, BMNH, RMNH, UPNG. Menzies did not indicate the localities for paratypes, but merely listed them by region and sex. A 22665 is presumably the paratype given as A 22655 – the latter specimen is a small Rana from Itikinumu, 2000 ft, Central Province (F. 1B4B8799FFFC0A16DECD0B89FB609446.taxon	discussion	Remarks: Entire type series of 95 specimens in UPNG. Paratypes 2839 - 40, 2842, 2855, 7462 - 63 not found. Description gave 7453 - 63, 9442 - 50, 9454 - 71 as collected 9. x. 1996, and in providing more information on the type locality (1999: 356), alternatively gave the altitude as 2400 m and the direction from Wau as SE. Paratypes 2849, 5605, 9471 are cleared-and-stained osteological preparations; 3985 is a skeleton. UPNG 2841 was sent to SAMA (UPNG register entry), where it is possibly one of two specimens under R 13665 (Mt Edward Albert (collector not recorded, 16. vii. 1971 )): 13665 A is an Albericus, while 13665 B is an unidentified juvenile microhylid (S. Richards & M. Hutchinson, pers. comm.). Paratypes 9442 - 43 are Cophixalus, either C. kaindiensis or C. parkeri (Kraus & Allison 2005 b); 9444 - 50 are the same Cophixalus species. Tag 7462 is loose in a jar with paratypes 7456 - 61; same jar contains a specimen with tag PNGM 7134 but no UPNG tag. Most of the UPNG types are in good condition; 5345 is slightly desiccated.	en	Shea, Glenn M., Kraus, Fred (2007): A list of herpetological type specimens in the collections of the Papua New Guinea National Museum and Art Gallery and University of Papua New Guinea. 1B4B8799FFE60A0CDECD0BF9FEEA96D0.taxon	discussion	Remarks: Type series consists of 25 specimens; holotype in SAMA, other paratypes in SAMA, MCZ, NHMB. UPNG 2446 (Morehead, Western Province, PNG; G. 1B4B8799FFE50A0FDECD0A49FB94979B.taxon	discussion	Remarks: For depositories of type series, see account under PNGM types. Paratypes 1698, 2087 (see below), 2820, 2826, 2952 - 54, and 2 x unregistered specimens not located. Paratypes listed by Menzies as UPNG 2097, 3922 and 3963 were incorrectly cited - these numbers apply respectively to a specimen of Litoria micromembrana, a Nactus and a microhylid. The numbers are presumed to be in error for 2087, 3822 and 3693, which are all Rana from within the range of R. garritor. The two unregistered paratypes given the temporary designations of sog 3 and kam 1 have not been identified, either among the unregistered material or those specimens registered since 1987, although the former, based on the prefix, may be from Sogeri. Menzies gave the type data as forest stream, ca 600 m, near Eilogo Estate, Sogeri, Central Province, PNG (J. I. Menzies, 24. viii. 1969). Holotype and located paratypes a little bleached. 1B4B8799FFE50A0EDECD0DBCFE7A935E.taxon	discussion	Remarks: For type series, and other comments, see account under PNGM types. Paratype 6179 not found, but number probably in error for 5179, which was located, but not listed by Menzies - 6179 is registered as a turtle (Elseya). Paratypes listed by Menzies as 2788 and 4573 incorrectly cited - these numbers apply to a Nyctimystes and Litoria angiana, respectively; it is not clear what the correct numbers are. Paratype 2305 (Sineha, Madang, Madang Province, PNG (J. Menzies, 20. vii. 1970 )) noted in UPNG register as sent to AMNH, where it is registered as A 84562, but with data Binek, Madang Province (J. Menzies, 20. vii. 1970) and identity Rana garritor (L. Ford, pers. comm.). Paratype 3967 (Wau, near Adam's Park, Morobe Province, PNG (J. Menzies, 26. vi. 1972 )) recorded in register as sent to M. Tyler (and presumably passed on to SAMA). However, no trace of this specimen can now be found in that collection (M. Hutchinson, pers. comm.). Menzies gave the type data as a lily pond in Bulolo township, ca 700 m, Morobe Province, PNG (J. I. Menzies, 20. xii. 1970). 1B4B8799FFE40A0EDECD09C1FDCD9748.taxon	discussion	Remarks: For depositories of type series, see account under PNGM types. Paratypes 3588 - 89 and 4824 not found. UPNG 1054, with attached label, was found in a jar labelled 1058, while UPNG 1058 was found in a different jar. Paratypes 1546 (Olsobip, Western Province, PNG (J. Menzies, 14. vii. 1969 )), 2081 - 82, 2092 (Baiyer River, West Highland Province, PNG (J. Menzies, 18. v. 1970 )) and 2781 (Bolivip, 5400 ft, Western Province, PNG (Schiefen, 5. i. 1971 )) noted in UPNG register as sent to AMNH. UPNG 1546 is now AMNH A 84567 (but registered as from Imigabip (J. Menzies, 14. vii. 1969 )); UPNG 2081 is now AMNH A 84564; UPNG 2092 is now AMNH A 84565; UPNG 2781 is now AMNH A 84569; UPNG 2082 is not able to be identified among AMNH material, but the latter collection does have UPNG 2080 (now AMNH A 84571) (L. Ford, pers. comm.). Paratypes listed by Menzies as 2588 - 89 from southeast PNG are incorrectly cited - these numbers apply to Litoria timida; it is not clear what the correct numbers are. Paratypes 1058, 3230 and 3232 were each cited twice in the list of specimens examined (1058 as both male and female; 3230 and 3232 as both from Central Highlands and Southeast PNG; the latter is correct); it is not clear whether these are all erroneous repetitions, or typographical errors for other specimens - all three numbers are parts of series of Rana. Menzies cited the holotype data as small tributary on Mai-U River, ca 80 m, foot of Mt Suckling, PNG (J. I. Menzies, vi. 1972). Holotype faded, illustrated in Günther (2003: fig. 6); paratypes generally in good condition. Paratypes at BPBM consist of two or three species; those in UPNG also consist of more than one species (Kraus & Allison, submitted).	en	Shea, Glenn M., Kraus, Fred (2007): A list of herpetological type specimens in the collections of the Papua New Guinea National Museum and Art Gallery and University of Papua New Guinea.
