The species has been reported from tropical Africa (e.g. Ethiopia, Ghana, Guinea, Madagascar, Senegal, Somalia), from South Africa and from Yemen (Socotra Archipelago) (ZHENG &amp; SLATER, 1984; AUKEMA, 2024).</p><p>Now,  P. reductus can be reported from the Canary Islands (Spain), too: On 05-04-2024, an adult specimen (Fig. 1) was found in La Laguna in the northern part of the island of Tenerife. The specimen was found on the edge of a front garden of the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics of the University of La Laguna (Fernando Martín Melián Guerra, pers. comm.). 2E7E87D95B06FF8DFF5AF8ABFCBAFE98.text	2E7E87D95B06FF8DFF5AF8ABFCBAFE98.taxon	http://purl.org/dc/dcmitype/Text	http://rs.tdwg.org/ontology/voc/SPMInfoItems#GeneralDescription	text/html	en	Acrosternum heegeri Fieber 1861	<div><p>So far,  Acrosternum heegeri Fieber, 1861</p><p>( Heteroptera:  Pentatomidae) has been reported for the Canary islands of La Palma, Tenerife, Gran Canaria and Fuerteventura (HEISS, 1997; AUKEMA et al., 2013; ROCA-CUSACHS et al., 2020).</p><p>The island of Lanzarote can be added to the list of the distribution of  A. heegeri in the Canary archipelago: On 28-11-2021, a nymph (Fig. 2) was found in Playa Blanca, located in the south of the island. The nymph was found behind an apartment in the Elba Hotel complex (James Senn, pers. comm.). A photograph of the specimen was uploaded to the online database iNaturalist (see here).</p><p>Furthermore, on 17-03-2024 an adult specimen of this species was found in the same apartment complex where the above mentioned nymph had been found.
